In the Netherlands, 2 billion cans are sold per year. Of these, around 150 million end up in the environment. Due to the increase in litter, a deposit on plastic bottles was already introduced in 2021. The deposit requirement of at least 15 cents will also apply to cans, regardless of what type of drink they contain.
Like the deposit on PET bottles, the measure also requires a special deposit system. Here, too, producers are responsible for setting this up and also bear the costs. With a deposit on tin, the Netherlands joins Germany, Finland, Norway and Denmark, among others.
Volkers can help adjust the artwork in time, so that the prints and cans comply with the regulations in time.
